“The Tantalum Dragon started off as a mixed team of brothers from firefighters of Hong Kong. We then got our own women team when we started to have active and passionate ladies joining the team. Each and every one of us has become strongly bonded by this sport, especially despite that we are not professional athletes. We strive to meet synchronicity while we paddle, and to reach this basic goal, it requires high level of concentration and trust for all teammates, from the calm lead paddlers in the front to the power paddlers at the back.

The most memorable things I enjoyed the most would be traveling to places like Russia, Venice, and Busan for competition. Throughout these races, it was like a family trip where we look out for one another. So, I think being on a team like this develops a very strong sense of belonging.”
