“Two years ago, while having dinner with my cousins, I saw a boat that really caught my interest. I watched the paddlers’ silhouettes as they moved along the creek in front of us. That was the first time I laid eyes on a dragon boat. After more than a year of preparing myself for my new passion, I joined running races, marathons, and did countless gym sessions to strengthen myself.

I am now with the Emirates Group Dragon Boat Club (Emirates airline). Our team is still a baby dragon, but we've already won races. This has proven to me that nothing is impossible if you have the will and perseverance! I have already fallen in love with this sport and my teammates who keep pushing and inspiring me.

It was just a dream for me two years ago. It is such an honor to now be a part of my team. In return, I will keep on improving myself as we paddle towards victory and never give up, no matter what challenges I might face.

I am doing this for myself, for my son, and to inspire others.”
