Somayeh Ghaffari

“I was a professional basketball player in Tehran and after a while, I went to the south of the country. There, I’ve been interested in many different water sports (water-skiing, diving, canoeing...). In that time, dragon boat came to Iran for the first time. Because I was interested in teamsports, I started dragon boat and made quick progress. Since then, I have had many experiences in national and international races.

At the beginning, I met one of the best coaches in canoeing and it was the best memory for me. She was very kind and successful, and I've become familiar with canoeing and dragon boat because of her.
Now, dragon boat is one of the most important parts of my life and I'm very interested to continue it.”
