"I’m Sara, a passionate dragon boat lover. Three years ago, in 2017, I was introduced to dragon boat by a friend. At that time, dragon boat was a new sport in my country; many thanks to Bahrain Rowing for bringing this sport to Bahrain!

I got hooked after a few sessions and I started to read and learn more about every detail of the sport. The fun sessions turned to team practices and races; I will always remember my first race. My love for the sport is purely out of passion for it. I am so madly in love with this sport that I want everyone to try it! My wish and hope for dragon boat is that more and more people in Bahrain fall in love with it like me and all of our current paddlers.

I’m happy that Bahrain was recently listed and added to the IDBF! I’m also happy that we were able to form the first Bahraini national team with Bahrain Rowing and that this team can race on the international stage and represent Bahrain. It is a privilege and an honor, and I am proud to be Team Captain for Team Bahrain! 😁
