“After doing cayuco for the Ocean to Ocean Race (crossing from Atlantic Ocean to Pacific Ocean), I received an invitation to participate in a new paddlesport in Panamá. My friend Ari asked me if I wanted to try a new paddlesport called dragon boat. I had never heard of the sport before, but I said, “Yes, why not…” Since then, I have a new family and dragon boat has become my passion!

Just one year ago, in March 2019, we had our first international competition in Trinidad and Tobago. It was the Pan American Club Crew Championship (PCCC). It was amazing... We met people and teams from T&T, the US, Puerto Rico and Canada. We saw teams with paddlers over 60 years old; it was inspiring. In 2021, the next PCCC will be in my country, Panamá, and everyone is invited!”
