“I got asked to join my high school dragonboat team (Shirley Boys High School) in the end of 2011 because they were short on people in the team. I wasn’t very interested in doing it at the start because of the early morning trainings and I didn’t really know much about the sport at the time, but I ended up liking the sport because of the good vibes and people!
My favourite memory was finally winning the national title in the 2018 New Zealand national championships against world class crew Hamilton City Watersports and winning all the events in that national championship. A close 2nd memory would be winning the first-ever regional open men’s race in the 2017 national championships.”
